NSW athletes close World Championships with three medals

After nine days of thrilling competition, the world championships came to a close this morning in Budapest. The performances across the week matched the high daily temperatures at the 19th edition of the global meet. NSW won half the Nationals teams’ medals, through Mackenzie Little’s javelin throw bronze, and our pair of high jumpers Eleanor Patterson with silver and Nicole Olyslagers with bronze.

Australian Cross Country Championships: Juniors on the Rise

For NSW finest distance running talent, next week all roads lead to Canberra for the 83rd Australian Cross Country Championships. The event, at Stromlo Forest, includes athletes from ages 10 to senior. The return of the Treloar Shield headlined a new standard for the summer of Athletics in NSW, with record numbers showing up week in and week out for the revamped format including the introduction of the first Treloar Shield Grand Final was a great success and returned a strong inter-club focus to NSW competition, providing us with a platform to continue to build on.

Statement Regarding One Athletics in NSW and Response to LAC's Requests

Last week, Athletics NSW (ANSW) and Little Athletics NSW (LANSW) received a letter sent on behalf of eight LANSW Centres representing almost 5,000 LANSW members. The letter pertained to the current state of Athletics in NSW and the Centres’ desire to see a One Athletics Structure achieved. That desire is shared by ANSW and has been for many years.
