Treloar Shield Final: Titles for Sydney Uni, UTS Norths, Manly, Hills and Bankstown

Five clubs shared in the spoils at the final of the 2024/25 Treloar Shield held yesterday at Homebush. Sydney University defended the prestigious open title. Manly Warringah juniors captured the U13 and U15 titles, the U18s went to Bankstown, while UTS Norths were victorious in the two masters divisions – 35-49 years and 50+ years.

NSW continued their winning record at the 2024 Chemist Warehouse Australian All Schools held in Brisbane over the last three days. NSW claimed the team from hosts Queensland and Victoria. The very warm conditions and tailwinds ensured the records books were hammered.

NSW 10km Walk: Elizabeth McMillen PBs and now #3 Aussie all-time

Sydney race walker Lizzy McMillen has clocked a stunning break through time of 43:00.01 to win the NSW 10,000m track walk championship in Bankstown last night. It elevated her to the third fastest in Australian history, behind former world record holder Kerry Saxby-Junna and dual Olympic medallists Jemima Montag. In the men’s event Carl Gibbons won his second State 10,000m title, a minute faster than his previous win in 2022.

It is clear from the overwhelmingly positive response, that the recently launched NSW Athletics Partnership by Little Athletics NSW (LANSW) and Athletics NSW (ANSW) has reinvigorated athletics across the state. Athletics NSW Centre of Excellence Announces Collaboration with Trinity Grammar School

Athletics NSW is proud to announce a new collaboration between its Centre of Excellence (COE) and Trinity Grammar School, one of the leading school athletics programs in the state. Starting in Term 4 of 2024 and continuing into Term 1 of 2025, Trinity Grammar School will utilise the COE's state-of-the-art facilities as part of their strength and conditioning program delivery for their athletics squad.

Vale Jean Harmey

Jean Harmey, one of NSW’s most significant administrators and International Technical Official passed away recently aged 99. She lived a very full and interesting life.
