18 NSW athletes selected for the Paris Olympic Games

Today the Australian Olympic Committee announced the final 55 Track and Field athletes to comprise the 75-strong team for the Paris Olympic Games. The NSW contingent is 18 athletes, headed by a number of medal hopes, javelin thrower Mackenzie Little, high jumpers Nicola Olyslagers and Eleanor Patterson, and 1500m runner Jessica Hull - who overnight in Paris sliced five seconds from the Australian record.

SYDNEY 10 REVIEW: Clifford and Nordberg claim titles

At the 16th edition of the Sydney 10, Tasmanian Sam Clifford and Run Crew’s Abi Nordberg claimed comfortable wins on a perfect day for running around Sydney Olympic Park. Over 1700 athletes competed across the morning over three distances 10km, 5km and 2.5km. The races incorporated the 93rd NSW Road Running Championships, first held in 1927.

Four NSW athletes to make International debut

In the last 24 hours the teams for the World Relays were announced along with the first Paralympic Games selections. Nine NSW athletes have been selected including three teenagers. Four NSW athletes will make their historic Australian team debut. The Paralympic Games is the pinnacle event for Para-athletes, while the World Relays is the key pathway for Olympic qualification with 14 of the 16 teams invited to Paris decided in the Bahamas in 10 days.

World Teams Race Walking Championships: Isaac Beacroft World Junior Champion

The incredible rise of 16-year-old Hills Club athlete Isaac Beacroft continued overnight at the 2024 World Race Walking Team Championships in Turkey when he was crowned World Junior Champion. Competing in the under-20 10km road walk event against athletes three years older, Isaac won by just one second, after a late surge in the race.
