World Championships Day 4 Review: Jessica Hull 7th in the World

On day four of the World Championships, being held in Eugene, South Coast’s Jessica Hull was the sole NSW representative in action, competing in her third race of the championships, the final of the women’s 1500m.

From the gun, a lead pack of four set a cracking pace, passing 400m in 59 seconds. Jess settled into the second pack and on occasions looked to be boxed in, but comfortable. The pace of the second pack was more conservative. Jess finished seventh just half a second behind fourth, clocking 4:01.82. It equalled the best ever place by an Aussie in this race at the World Championships and was an improvement on her 11th in the Tokyo Olympic final. As we look toward Birmingham in 10 days, Jess was third of the six starters from Commonwealth nations.

But before Birmingham, Jess is entered in the 5000m in Eugene with heats starting Thursday morning AEST.
