Update regarding upcoming Athletics NSW events
Published Wed 18 Mar 2020
The COVID-19 outbreak is unprecedented and causing wide spread disruption. Athletics NSW Staff and Board are working together to ensure we prioritise the health, safety and wellbeing of our athletes, officials, participants, staff, volunteers and supporters over the coming months. We have unfortunately had to make some changes to the early events on our winter calendar and other planned ANSW events:
After discussions between relevant Club committee members, stakeholders and the ANSW Staff Team, we can provide the following updates regarding the St George Classic (incorporating the NSW Novice Championships) and the Sydney 10 (incorporating the NSW 10km Road Championships) for 2020:
Waratah Series – St George Classic

After consultation with the St George Athletics Club committee and Athletics NSW Staff Team, the St George Classic (incorporating the NSW Novice Championships) (due to be held on Saturday, 18th April) has been postponed to a date yet to be confirmed
RunNSW – Sydney 10
-
The Sydney 10 (incorporating the NSW 10km Road Championships) (due to be held on Saturday 2nd May) has been postponeduntil later in 2020, with an exact date yet to be confirmed. We are working with Sydney Olympic Park Authority to reschedule to a suitable date.
We will be in communication with weekly updates, on the remainder of the Waratah and RunNSW calendar, including as a priority the NSW Team Walks Championships (Sunday, 17th May), and the XC Relays (Saturday, 30th May).
In addition:
The ANSW Annual Awards (scheduled Sunday 26th April 2020) has been postponed (Rescheduled date TBC)
