The second edition of NAB RunWest will take place in Western Sydney on Sunday March 29, 2020. The 2020 NAB RunWest will again comprise a 12km Fun Run and 4km Family Fun Run, culminating with the finish line and finish festival at West HQ. Registrations for the 2020 NAB RunWest event will officially open on Thursday, November 21, 2020, at www.runthewest.com.au.

The inaugural NAB RunWest, held on March 31, 2019, was Australia’s largest ever inaugural fun run, attracting more than 7,500 registrations and delivering an extraordinary community event for Western Sydney. The social impact of NAB RunWest is significant with more than 100 cultures participating and more than 80% of participants not meeting minimum physical activity guidelines. We are committed to changing the way the diverse cultures and people of Western Sydney move, eat and prioritise a healthy lifestyle, creating a positive, lasting legacy for generations to come. We continue to pursue this vision for the 2020 event. This year our overarching theme is ‘together’, where we aim to bring people from all backgrounds, fitness levels and ages together on Sunday, March 29, 2020, for a true celebration of community.

RunWest will again be working with  founding partner, West HQ, and major partners NAB, Blacktown City Council and 7News, along with AVJennings, WSFM, Brooks and Project Clothing as official event partners. The NAB RunWest 12km event will again start at Sydney Motorsport Park and pass through Sydney Zoo and Western Sydney Parklands before finishing at West HQ. The 4km Family Fun Run will start at Blacktown International Sports Park and conclude at West HQ. The family fun and activations at the start zone are a brilliant way to start a family day.

Runwest’s commitment to driving community engagement continues through the conduct of the Community Groups Challenge, encouraging social, sporting, religious and running groups to register for the Challenge and a chance to win a share of a $6,000 prize pool. There will also be incentives for small groups to participate ‘together’, with a $5 per person discount on the registration fee for teams of five or more. RunWest are again partnering with prominent Western Sydney charities including The Steve Waugh Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, the John Maclean Foundation and Better Foundation to highlight their work in the Western Sydney community and encourage our participants to raise funds for one of the official charities through their participation in NAB RunWest.

For the 2020 event, there is a new and refreshed team for NAB RunWest with the project being led by Anna Fitzgerald, in the capacity of Executive General Manager, ably supported by newly appointed General Manager, Micheal Murphy. Pont3 has been retained to deliver the event operations and 360 Sport & Entertainment has been retained to oversee brand, marketing and commercial services. It is a talented and dedicated team committed to delivering another outstanding event.

Athletics NSW looks forward to again sharing the 2020 NAB RunWest experience and production as Strategic Partner over the coming months and we thank you for your support of the event.
