NSW Winter Season Relaunch

The purpose-built cross country venue at Dapto, will have the honour of hosting Athletics NSW’s first winter competition as COVID-19 restrictions ease in NSW.
Meticulous planning by Athletics NSW will ensure a safe environment for a return to competition for participants, officials, and supporters.
“We are excited to announce the return to competition, and will be implementing all COVID Safe requirements and following all NSW Health regulations,” Athletics NSW CEO Kirin Lindop said.
“We know that sport is an important part of the lives of so many Australians and we are privileged to be able to offer this opportunity for the athletes to return to competition.”
The NSW Short Course Cross Country Championship will be held on Sunday 19 July at the Kembla Joggers Cross Country Park in Dapto, Wollongong. The event will include races for athletes from 10 plus years. Following the Short Course Cross Country there will be the NSW Cross Country Championships (8 August) and the NSW Cross Country Relays (22 August).
In the future there will be information regarding Sydney:10 (NSW Road Champs), Sydney Half Marathon (NSW Half Marathon Champs), NSW Marathon Championships and a few RunNSW events.
The Waratah Series NSW Short Course Cross Country Championships will be the 106 th edition of the race, first held in 1906in Kensington. It was previously not held during World War I and for two years in the 1990’s but have been held every year. As reigning NSW Short Course champions, Brad Milosevic (GIR) and Rose Davies (Adamstown) will have the first opportunity to defend their winter state titles.
