NSW Cross Country Selection Criteria Announced

Athletics NSW announced today the selection criteria of which they will be selecting a team to represent the state at the 2022 Athletics Australia Cross Country Championships, to be held on Saturday 27th August, in Adelaide, SA.

Ten (10) athletes will be selected in the Under 14, Under 15, Under 16, Under 17 and Under 18 age-gender groups, and also in the multi-class age groups of Under 15 and Under 17. No additional athletes nor reserves will be selected in these age groups.

The first five (5) placegetters in each of the above age-gender groups will be automatically selected from the NSW XC Championships (Nowra, Saturday 18th June). The other five (5) athletes for each of the above age-gender groups will be made at the discretion of a selection panel, from the below events across the Athletics NSW 2022 Winter Season:

- Sydney 10 (Sunday, 1st May), St George Classic (Saturday, 21st May), XC Relays (Saturday, 4th June), NSW XC Championships (Saturday, 18th June), Road Relays (Saturday, 16th July) and NSW XC Short Course (Sunday, 7th August)

U20 and Open age groups - Six (6) athletes will be selected as part of the NSW team for each age-gender group, with any number of reserves (who are still able to compete) identified at the selectors' discretion.
