NSW Athletics Announces Financial Assistance Programs

NSW Athletics is proud to announce two financial assistance programs aimed at supporting athletes, coaches, and officials in attending state, national, and international championships. These programs provide essential funding to help cover travel and accommodation costs, ensuring greater opportunities for participation.

Country Athletes Support Program 

The Country Athletes Support Program is designed to assist talented young athletes from regional NSW in accessing competitions held in Sydney. This initiative provides grants to athletes aged 9-17 years who live more than 200km from Sydney and are competing in at least one event at the NSW State Championships in March 2025.

Eligible expenses include travel and accommodation for the NSW State Championships, with a maximum grant of $500 per athlete. To apply, complete the attached form and submit it via email to kmoran@lansw.com.au by 4pm on Monday, 24 February 2025.

Local Sporting Championships (LSC)

The Australian Sports Commissions’ (ASC) Local Sporting Championships (LSC) provides grants for coaches, officials, and competitors (aged 12-18 years) participating in state, national, or international championships. Successful applicants can receive up to $750 to help with their competition expenses.

Round 4 applications close on 30 April 2025, and successful applicants will be notified from June 2025.
