Dubbo to host the 2023 NSW Country Championships

Athletics NSW is excited to announce that the Barden Park Athletics Centre, Dubbo will host 2023 NSW Country Championships from Friday 20th January to Sunday 22nd January, 2023.

Athletics NSW is proud to be coming back to Dubbo for the third NSW Country Championships in six years, after a successful running of the 2017 and 2020 editions of the event at Barden Park – one of the premier regional track & field facilities in NSW.

Christian Renford, CEO of Athletics NSW stated:

“The NSW Country Championships in an integral part of the Athletics NSW Summer Calendar, and brings out the hallmarks of our sport that we have all come to enjoy – family, friends, participation, enjoyment, stories, and ultimately, memorable experiences for our regional membership. With the assistance of the Dubbo Regional Council and the Dubbo Athletics Club, we are looking forward to delivering another fantastic edition of the NSW Country Championships.”

Traditionally, up to 800 athletes and their families attend the NSW Country Championships every year, and the event attracts athletes and their families from all over NSW.


Mayor of Dubbo Regional Council, Mathew Dickerson stated:

“Over the last decade, Council has invested significantly in sporting infrastructure. This investment enables the Region to attract large sporting events such as the Country Championships, delivering returns to our local sporting community and the local economy.”

Entries are open to all eligible regional club members who are registered with Athletics NSW, and entries will open shortly. All eligible 2022/23 members registered with Athletics NSW will be notified as soon as this occurs.
