2025 Australian Championships: 900 athletes go west

Nearly 900 NSW athletes head to Perth over the next week to compete at the Chemist Warehouse Australian Junior and Open Championships, the 102nd staging of the event.

The first five days (April 4 to 8) will see the under-18 to 14s in action. After a rest day on Wednesday April 9, the competition resumes with the open and under-20 (April 10-13).  

The championships over nine days is an extraordinary 94 hours of competition, with Channel 7+ livestreaming eight hours a day. The event and broadcast It is an enormous undertaking from Australian Athletics, officials and volunteers.

Some of the NSW athletes heading to Perth to defend their National titles in the under-18 to under-14 events, include: Eliza Lawton (1500m/3000m), Ashley Hogan (DT), Tallara Joseph-Riogi (DT/JT), Marnie Laurence (100m/200m/LJ), Cooper Dabin (HT), Isaac Robinson (800m/1500m), Naomi Krajancic (400m), Matthew McLachlan (3000m), Ollie Facer (hurdles), Evan Rowbotham (800m/1500m/3000n), Jacob Ashton Copp (100m/200m), Zavier Peacock (100m), Ella Plummer (800m), Mia Hooton (800m), Ava Jacob (1500m), Divine Chukwudi (100m), Ashton Foley (400m), Mason McGroder (400m/LJ), Alicia Webb (400m), Cameron Bloem (Steeplechase), Alexia Mathison (hurdles), Tammin Lampret (hurdles), Tomi Reynaldo (hurdles), Duke Lampret (HJ), Ratuviliame Lewanavanua (HJ), Madison Tabrett (HJ), Charlie Haddad (HJ), Nimrodzsolt Zsombor (PV), Csenge Zsuzsanna Zsombor (PV), Weiyi Tang (LJ), James Mikan (LJ), Sienna Vassella (LJ), Hannah Lambert (TJ), Amalia Bond (TJ), Savannah Auvaa (SP), Kalisi Aualiitia (DT/HT) and Sidney Bartle (HT).
