Australian All Schools Championships

A squad of 262 NSW athletes travel to Perth this week to defend their crown as the premier state at the Australian All Schools Championships. The most populated state has been the dominate force at the meet for many decades, able to hold off Queensland and Victoria their main threats. However, in the last decade twice Queensland have finished within 10 points of NSW.

NSW will be the largest team in Perth with 262 athletes, well ahead of Victoria with 212 and Queensland 210.

On the field and track for NSW will be nine athletes from the successful Commonwealth Youth Games team, spearheaded by gold medallists, discus thrower George Wells and Para sprinter/jumper Jackson Love.

After being unable to trail for the CYG team, Ivy Boothroyd, returns to the championships where last year she set a NSW 800m record. She will complete alongside race walker Isaac Beacroft and triple jumper Daniel Okerenyang who have both set National records in the last year.

Athletes will compete in age groups U18 to U14 and Para athletes under-15, 17 and 20.

The championships run Friday to Sunday and will be live streamed.
