Athletics NSW Reveals 2019/20 Championships Calendar

Athletics NSW is proud to reveal the 2019/20 Championships Calendar, with major events taking place in Wollongong, Bankstown, Campbelltown, Mingara, Dubbo and Sydney Olympic Park.
Twenty years on from the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympic Games, the Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre will host the NSW Open Championships and National Championships in March.
2019 marks the 20th anniversary of the iconic Campbelltown Athletics Track’s opening, and to celebrate the milestone, the track will play host to the NSW Relays Championships in November.
The NSW Country Championships will take place in Barden Park at Dubbo, as ANSW strives to continue growing the sport in regional areas of the state.
Athletics NSW CEO Kirin Lindop expects the upcoming summer season will once again showcase the state’s best athletes in the lead up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
“The 2019/2020 ANSW Championships calendar sets the scene for an exciting summer of athletics. With a mix of Sydney metro and regional venues, ANSW staff and Officials will partner with local Clubs, and athletic centre operators to showcase our sport,” said Lindop
“The 2019/2020 calendar offers our NSW and visiting athletes a strong platform to excel, develop, participate and compete.
“The season ahead will lead into the Olympic Games trials to be held at SOPAC in March and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games – an exciting season ahead.”
