Athletics NSW commits funding to World Athletics U20 Team
This week, the 16 NSW athletes who are representing Australia at the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships have been allocated $600 each to assist with them with the costs of attending the Championships.
This contribution from Athletics NSW comes from the Centenary Trust and was approved by the ANSW Board and CEO as part of ANSW’s commitment to supporting the emerging stars of our sport.
Following the announcement from the ANSW Board, ANSW CEO Christian Renford said “we’re thankful that we’re able to contribute in part to these athletes’ international journeys, and look forward to seeing them represent not only Australia, but our state and their club with pride in Colombia.”
Additional ways in which Athletics NSW can offer long-term support to NSW representatives and elite athletes on national teams will be investigated further in coming months.
