Athletics NSW is pleased to announce that the para-classification day has reached record numbers with more than 14 athletes already registered to attend on 8-10 March at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre.

The para-classification day is for all athletes with a physical impairment who wish to compete in athletics, these athletes can be new or hold State Level Athletics Classification (provisional).

Athletics NSW Para-Liaison Coordinator Matt Rawlings said “This is an exciting time in para-athletics, and a significant milestone.

The level of growth we are already seeing in the sport is amazing and I look forward to the day when we can offer more events to our Athletes.”

Adding to the day, ANSW Health and Wellbeing partner Maple Services will be present to showcase their offerings and provide support to individuals with disabilities on their NDIS journey.

This surge in participation highlights the increasing popularity of para-athletics and emphasises the need for more classification days to cater to the growing demand.
