Athletics NSW Centre of Excellence Announces Collaboration with Trinity Grammar School
Published Fri 18 Oct 2024
Athletics NSW is proud to announce a new collaboration between its Centre of Excellence (COE) and Trinity Grammar School, one of the leading school athletics programs in the state. Starting in Term 4 of 2024 and continuing into Term 1 of 2025, Trinity Grammar School will utilise the COE's state-of-the-art facilities as part of their strength and conditioning program delivery for their athletics squad.
This partnership will see Trinity athletes integrate track and field-specific training with their strength work, taking full advantage of the COE’s gym and Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre (SOPAC) track facilities. The program will be overseen by Director of Athletics at Trinity Grammar School, Matt Wade, who said, “The benefits of this partnership to our student/athletes will be significant. It will provide continued access to World Class facilities and give them back time in their very busy schedules as well as continuing to help the program bridge the gap between elite High School athletics and Open level athletics.”
"We are very excited to see this partnership come to life," said Nils Hestermann, General Manager Performance and Pathways at Athletics NSW.
"Trinity has a rich tradition in athletics, recently producing Olympians such as Rohan Browning, Olli Hoare and Connor Murphy all of whom represented Australia at Paris 2024. Having one of the nation’s top school athletics programs engage with the new home of Athletics NSW affirms the quality of the high-performance environment we have built. This collaboration highlights our shared commitment to developing the next generation of Track and Field talent in NSW.”
