Team Results will be based on the accumulative total of finishing positions in the age group/gender of the first 3 (U14 and below) or 4 (U15 and above) finishes from that club.
Where there are more than four in a team, multiple teams from the same club can be formed and will be referred to as A team, B team etc.
We are aware, especially in Winter 2024, athletes will be registered with two athletics club (i.e one Little Athletics and one Athletics NSW). Athletes can compete for either club. The choice remains with the athlete. It is important to note that the nucleus of the partnership is putting the athlete first, and building pathways and products that support athletes.
The athlete will be listed in the entry lists as a the club they select during entry. For team calculations, this will also be the club they use to calculate team medals. While athletes can only compete for one club, they may change the club by contacting Athletics NSW or on the day at administration no later the 15 minutes prior to race start.
For the avoidance of doubt, if an athlete is a member of a one sport club as defined by ANSW and LANSW, they can use members of that club to form a team regardless of which organisation (LANSW or ANSW) that athlete is registered with.
Point score
The Winter Premiership is the point score system for the Winter season whereby athletes from the same club can form a team and that team will receive points based on overall rankings in their race.
For more information regarding the Winter premiership, please review our Winter rules here.
The Winter trophy is a combination of team points and participation points.
The team points are calculated by combining all A, B or C team premierships points for the club in each age group.
Participation points are awarded to each athlete that runs at the event and holds an eligible membership with an Athletics NSW club.
