Advanced Recreational Running Coach (Level 2) - Online Course
The Advanced Recreational Running Coach (Level 2) is an extension of the Recreational Running Coach (Level 1).
It is designed for coaches who are interested in preparing athletes for long-distance running events, spanning 5 to 42kms (Marathon).
Advanced Recreational Running coaches primarily work with intermediate level runners aged 18 and above.

Advanced Recreational Running Coach (Level 2) Information
Course Details:
Cost for the Advanced Recreational Running Coach (Level 2) Online Course - $300
To obtain the accreditation you must:
- Attend all online sessions detailed below:
Week 1: Wednesday 27th May 2025, 6:45pm – 8:15pm
Week 2: Wednesday 3rd June 2025, 6:45pm – 8:15pm
Week 3: Wednesday 10th June 2025, 6:45pm – 8:15pm
Week 4: Wednesday 17th June 2025, 6:45pm – 8:15pm
Week 5: Wednesday 24th June 2025, 6:45pm – 8:15pm
- Complete the Advanced Recreational Running Coach (Level 2) online modules
- Complete a short answer assessment.
- Complete the practical coaching assessment (signed off by an approved assessor).
Athletics Australia strongly recommends that the assessor supervises coach for the duration of a season (1 year) before signing off on the assessment.
Pre-requisites:
To gain the Advanced Recreational Running Coach (Level 2) accreditation, a coach must meet the following criteria:
- Be 16 years or older.
- Hold the Recreational Running Coach (Level 1).
Recognition of Prior Learning:
RPL Applications for Coaches are now available to apply for any level online to make the process easier for coaches who already hold the expected competencies of a given level of accreditation (Application Below).
