Level 2 Recreational Running Online Coach Course
The Level 2 Recreational Running Coach course trains coaches to develop the fundamental technical and strategic skills for runners training for 5km through to ultra-marathon events. The course covers topics such as warmups, endurance training, session planning, and designing training programs leading up to recreational running events.
Target Coaching Audience
- Individuals interested in coaching intermediate runners.
- Lead coaches of recreational running groups.
- Personal Trainers.
- Physiotherapists.
- Recreational runners looking to further their understanding of running training principles.
Target Athletes
The course has a focus on coaching recreational runners over the age of 18 aiming to complete a 5 km - marathon event.

Level 2 Recreational Running Course Information
Course Details:
Cost for the Level 2 Recreation Running Online Course: $300.00
Pre-Course Work:
Online Modules: 2 Hours - 7 modules to be released over a period of 5 weeks
Reading: 2 Hours
Teaching Hours:
7.5 Hours delivered over a 5-week period through the Microsoft teams’ platform during the following day(s) and times:
Week 1: Sunday 3rd of September 2023, 4:00pm to 5:30pm
Week 2: Sunday 10th of September 2023, 4:00pm to 5:30pm
Week 3: Sunday 17th of September 2023, 4:00pm to 5:30pm
Week 4: Sunday 24th of September 2023, 4:00pm to 5:30pm
Week 5: Sunday 1st of October 2023, 4:00pm to 5:30pm
Post-Course Work:
Reading: 6 Hours +
Online Modules: 2 Hours
Assignment: 2 Hours
Pre-Requisites:
Level 1 Recreational Running, Level 1 Community Athletics Coach, Cert. III or IV in Fitness.
Recognition of Prior Learning:
RPL Applications for Coaches are now available to apply for any level online to make the process easier for coaches who already hold the expected competencies of a given level of accreditation (Application Below).
