The Level 1 Community Athletics Coach Course Online focuses on developing the coach's human management skills and understanding of physical literacy and how it can be improved based on the 'Teaching Games for Understanding' model of sports development.
This course instructs coaches how to follow the Teaching Games for Understanding model, especially its athlete-centred pedagogy, and introduces the most critical components of developing physical literacy in beginning athletes to prepare them for future Track & Field success, which must be understood before event-specific coaching can be developed.

Week 1: Sunday 16 October 2022, 4:30pm – 6:00pm
Week 2: Sunday 23 October 2022, 4:30pm – 6:00pm
Week 3: Sunday 30 October 2022, 4:30pm – 6:00pm
Week 4: Sunday 6 November 2022, 4:30pm – 6:00pm
Week 5: Sunday 13 November 2022, 4:30pm – 6:00pm
You must attend all the online meetings to gain the accreditation. Further Information regarding Course Resources will be provided upon registration as well as an invite to the Microsoft Team meeting(s).
Pre-Course Work:
Online Modules: 4 Hours
Reading: 2 Hours
Teaching Hours:
7.5 Hours delivered over 5 Microsoft Team Meetings
Post-Course Work:
Reading: 6 Hours+
Online Modules: 1 Hour
Assignment: 1 Hour
Pre-Requisites:
Participants must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
RPL Applications:
RPL Applications Coaches are now able to apply for RPL for any level online to make the process easier for coaches who already hold the expected competencies of a given level of accreditation.
