One of the most unique events we’ve ever delivered is coming very soon – the Anniversary 5K!
WHAT IS THE ANNIVERSARY 5K?
The Anniversary 5K is for you to experience what every athlete experienced at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games – from the athletics track, to the underground tunnel, and the opportunity to run, walk, jog or roll on the field of play of Stadium Australia – the centre of the Games itself!
WHERE IS THE EVENT?
This very special parkrun-distance course will be held at Sydney Olympic Park, with the start and finish near Cathy Freeman Park.
The 5K course itself will feature the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre, where the track & field athletes warmed up before their Olympic events, the NSW Rugby League Centre of Excellence access tunnel, where the NSW Blues walk from their warm-up field/change rooms on to the field of play before each State of Origin home game, and of course, the field of play of Stadium Australia itself.
You will get the unique experience of what it was like for Cathy Freeman to walk out 21 years ago before she created one of the greatest sporting moments in not only Australian history, but Olympic history.
A detailed course map will be provided shortly.
