Due to the current COVID lockdown in greater Sydney and uncertainty moving forward, in conjunction with the host club, Mingara, and the University of Newcastle, the unfortunate decision has been made to cancel the Road Relay Championships for 2021.

REGISTRATION

This is the team registration portal, if you wish to register as an individual runner please visit the individual entry page.

This portal allows registration and payment of multiple teams in a single transaction, simply select as many teams in the age categories as needed. Before you begin, please have all of your teams' members National ID numbers available.

Please note - Club admins and individuals completing registrations must ensure that what is entered and paid for online matches what is submitted on the spreadsheet below. Any errors needed to be rectified after submission may incur an administration fee.

Please use the appropriate template below to outline your team details and composition. Submissions that do not use these specific templates will not be received.

Please see above the registration portal button to register for this event. Teams must be registered by the team captain or a club admin whose details will be attached to the entry.

Entry fees are $50 per member team, and $80 per non-member team - payable upon entry.

Individual entries will be made available on a different portal at $25.

The registration portal for this event will close on Wednesday, 7th July @ 9:00am sharp.

No on-the-day entries will be accepted, all entries must be registered through this portal.

COMPETITION

Race Bibs: Race bibs will be available for collection from event registration on race day.

Timing Tags: The event will be timed via a corresponding timing chip that will be attached to the back of your race bib.

Uniform: All athletes must wear their Athletics NSW affiliated club uniform. Non-member teams are encouraged to wear matching uniform of their community running groups if possible. All athletes will be provided their competition numbers on the day, complete with timing chip.

Results: Will be posted live online through the 'Live Results' function of our website. All results queries must be subitted to Athletics NSW via email (competitions@nswathletics.org.au) within 72 hours of the final event of the Championship.

DRAFT TIMETABLE

12:00pm - Men and Women U12, U14, U16, 70+ & 80+

12:45pm - Men's U18, U20, Open, 30+

2:00pm - Central Coast Cross COuntry Fun Run

2:30pm - Women's U18, U20, Open, 30+  |  Men and Women 40+, 50+, 60+


EVENT DISTANCES AND AGE GROUPS

  • 4x2km: U12, U14, U16, 70-79 & 80+
  • 4x4km: U18, U20, Open, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69
  • People competing as individuals must compete in their age group's distance, running with the first leg runners.

All age groups are run by Athletics NSW Age Group Determination dates, meaning that the age the athlete turns by 31 December 2021, is the "under" age group they fall into, including all Masters age groups. E.g. an athlete turning 12 or turning 13 years old in 2021, will be running in the U14 age group.

 

TEAM COMPOSITION

Teams that are eligible for team medals and winter points must compose of the following 

  • All ANSW member teams must be finanical with ANSW for the 2020/21 Season with either an Open, Dual, Concession or RunNSW memberships.
  • Individuals may "run up" an age group in junior categories, or "run down" age groups in masters.
  • At least 2 athletes must be male if the team is running in the male division event

*Non-member teams are not eligible for medals or winter premiership points and may wear casual clothes, though are required to enter in their correct age and gender races.


GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION

Club Tents: Club tents are permitted at this event, but must be weighed down at each leg. No tent pegs permitted due to irrigation at the venue, weight bags only.

First Aid: First aid will be available on the day. If any patron requires first aid please, notify an official/volunteer in order to communicate through to first aid for instant response.

Looking after the venue: We are very grateful for the opportunity host the Road Relays at the University of Newcastle. We ask of all patrons to remember the following:

  • Parking - Please park in permitted area's only. There is plenty of parking so please be sensible.
  • Rubbish - Please leave the event in same or better condition than when you arrived.
  • Toilets - Ample facilities are available at the venue.
  • Conduct - Please behave appropriately and follow all processes and directions applied by Athletics NSW and Officials.
