Athletics NSW aims to collate a number of suitable grants, scholarships and awards opportunities offered by external organisations that are available for eligible clubs and athletes to apply. 

Please note that while ANSW will endeavours to keep this page updated, it is not intended to be a comprehensive list and clubs/athletes should be mindful other grant opportunities beyond what is listed. Clubs and athletes should ensure they read through the selection criteria’s and take note of any closing dates.

Edstart's Achievement Awards Program is an opportunity for students to be recognised in an area they are passionate about.Acknowledging talented students from primary and secondary schools across Australia.
 

Sport and physical wellbeing - Talented in a particular sport or is passionate about health and physical wellbeing.

Amount - $1,500

Edstart Achievement Awards Program

The Australian Sport Commision has a program, Local Sporting Champions program, which can provide some financial assistance for athletes aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.

Local Sporting Champions Program

The Australian Sport Commision has a program, the Local Para Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-24 participating in state, national or international championships for athletes with a disability.

Local Para Champions Program

The NSW Government State Representative Award recognises people who have represented the State of NSW in a competitive field.

Nominees of any age, who have represented NSW in a competitive field (eg. sport, music, the arts or academic), either nationally or internationally, may be nominated for the Award.

Nominations must be submitted within 2 years of the staging of the competition in which the nominee represented NSW. For further information please click here

Applications for our five-week leadership program ‘Empowered to Lead’ are now OPEN!

As part of our mission to empower and inspire girls to embrace life to the fullest, we are thrilled to announce 50 scholarships available for our upcoming program. This is your chance to be part of something extraordinary! 

If selected, you’ll receive a FULLY FUNDED spot in the program, with the entire course fees covered (valued at $1,495).

Play Like a Girl Australia

Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund scholarships are only for emerging athletes whose families are experiencing financial hardship. 

Eligible athletes will be competing in a National Championship for their state or country in 2024.

Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund

The No Barriers grant will help young Australians aged 7-12 with a disability over come initial start-up costs to participate in sport. The funds are to be used towards new and upgraded equipment, club and competition fees, cost of travel and accommodation.

Waratah Education Foundation No Barriers Grant

Advance your career with a women’s leadership scholarship

Partial scholarships of $1,000 - $6,000 are available to help women in select industries participate in our world-class leadership courses.

Courses are available for women at all levels.

Women & Leadership Australia Scholarship

Australians have a deep passion for sport, and the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is committed to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to be involved in sport - as a participant, an official, an administrator or as a volunteer. From grassroots to the elite level, the ASC plays a crucial role in ensuring sport is a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone. The ASC has a strong focus on gender equity and continues to strive for equal representation in sport.

The ASC is proud of the Women Leaders in Sport (WLIS) program which began in 2002 and has supported more than 27,000 women and over 800 sporting organisations.

An Australian Government initiative, the WLIS program aims to reduce gender inequality and help more women advance into leadership roles within the sport ecosystem.

The WLIS Individual Grants Program, provides women throughout Australia the opportunity to advance in their leadership journey via a range of development programs and training.

Women Leaders in Sport

NSW NORTH

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Active Champions Fund, a new partnership between HealthWISE and the Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS). This initiative is designed to support five exceptional young athletes on their journey to qualify for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
 
Eligibility CriteriaTo be considered for the Active Champions Fund, applicants must meet the following conditions:
The Active Champions Fund offers five grants of $2,000 each, which will be distributed in two installments:
  • $1,000 upon acceptance of the grant.
  • $1,000 in April 2025, contingent on continued eligibility.

Due Date -  thursday 31st October 2024

Active Champions Fund

 Individual grants are $250 and club grants are $500 to support local sporting, creative & academic goals.

This grant is for under 18 year old individuals or groups that live or are based in the, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Kempsey & Nambucca local areas.

McDonald's & The Munro Group - Individual Grant

NSW SOUTH

The Foundation is named after the late Ray Harvey. Ray contributed to many sport and community activities throughout the Goulburn community.

The purpose of the Foundation is to provide support to promising young sports people, helping them financially with coaching fees and providing assistance with costs associated with competition experience outside the Goulburn Mulwaree LGA.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council is the Trustee of the Ray Harvey Sports Foundation that was established to assist promising young sports persons to obtain coaching and competitive experience outside the Goulburn Mulwaree area.

There are two grant application rounds per financial year and further information will be added to this area when applications are invited.

The objective of the Ray Harvey Sports Foundation is to give financial assistance to promising young sports people, helping them  with the necessary coaching and competitive experience that is required in their chosen sport outside the City of Goulburn.

Amount - Monetary Grant

Due Date -  Friday 25th October 2024 at 5:00pm. 

Area - Goulburn Mulwaree LGA
