BECOMING AN OFFICIAL

As athletics events require a very large workforce, we are always looking for more volunteers and officials. Becoming an official is a lot easier then it may seem with the level 1 course entirely online. Athletics NSW would like to encourage anyone with an interest in athletics to volunteer at one of our events to get a taste for officiating. Anyone can volunteer, and our All-comers and Treloar Shield meets are the perfect opportunity to experience officiating. No passed experience is necessary. If you would like more information, please email ashleighcrook@nswathletics.org.au

The Australian Athletics Officials’ Education Scheme (AAOES) is a joint initiative of Athletics Australia and Jetstar Little Athletics Australia, providing a seamless and transparent education pathway for Australian Athletics Officials.

The scheme is endorsed by the Australian Sports Commission and then follows best industry practice, with online learning coupled with face-to-face delivery. The aim of the AAOES is to ensure an effective and efficient education framework is provided to guarantee Australian Athletics Officials remain world leaders in event delivery at all levels of athletic competition.
