Coach Max Debnam receives Sport NSW awarded

For 60 years, legendary coach Max Debnam has been developing generations of athletes in Newcastle. His service was recognised recently by Sport NSW with a Distinguished Long Service Award. Surrounded by his family, Max received the award at the annual Sport NSW Community Awards at an event held at NSW Parliament House.

Ted Simmons OAM receives Sport NSW award

Ted Simmons has worked in sports administration as an official (announcer), referee, journalist and historian for well over 60 years. He has received considerable recognition for his service and another was added to that collection, when last month he received a Sport NSW Distinguished Long Service Award at an event held at NSW Parliament House.

Four more medals for NSW on day six of the World University Games.

The last three days of the 30th World University Games in Naples were busy but successful for NSW athletes. Four athletes claimed relays medals, to add to the silver Alex Diamond’s won in the decathlon on day three of the Games.
