Day three of the NSW junior championships, held in ideal conditions at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre, produced a Commonwealth games B qualifier, three world juniors qualifiers and plenty of exciting battles on the track and in the field.

NSW Junior Championships: Day Two Review

The undoubted highlight on day two was the quick sprinting by Josh Clarke, but many other athletes shone with the help of good tail winds, while others were gallant in some terrific racing.

Two of the feature races, the under-20 men and women1 500m didn’t disappoint, while seven athletes nailed world junior qualifier. New qualifiers were scored by Harrison Andrews (110H 13.77) and Ivor Metcalf (110H 13.82); while another five achieved additional qualifiers: Josh Clarke (100m 10.36), Mackenzie Little (javelin 54.69m), Matthew Debruin (Vic, 110H 13.93), Kat Hunt (100mH, 13.92), Anna Laman (1500m, 4:20.31)

Josh Clarke clocked 10.36 and 10.20 windy

The undoubted highlight on day two was the quick sprinting by teenager Josh Clarke (UTN) as he clocked a stunning 10.36 in the heat, before going on to run a wind assisted 10.20 in the final.
