SAMUELS CLAIMS BRONZE

Westfields Athletics Club athlete, Dani Samuels threw her way to win bronze in the women’s discus with a personal best of 59.44m at the Commonwealth Games last night (Tuesday March 21st). Samuels, the World Youth Champion and only 17 years of age, waited until her last throw of the day to sneak into third position. South Africa’s Elizna Naude taking gold with 61.55m and Indian Seema Antil in second with 60.56m.

Medaling in her international senior debut, Samuels  moved to sixth on on the Australian all time list, and to within a metre of Lisa-Marie Vizaniari's 1990 Australlan under-20 record of 60.44m
