Congratulations and thank you Stephanie Croft
Athletics NSW proudly congratulates Stephanie Croft on her NSW state government award for 2019 Local Woman of the Year for Willoughby. Steph appropriately received her award on International Womens Day, and it was presented by the Premier, The Hon. Gladys Berejiklian MP.
Stephanie has been an active volunteer in the Willoughby community for more than 20 years. She has held key roles on numerous community organisations, with her extraordinary diligence and dedication resulting in increased significant capital works funding and improved before and after schools policies for local schools.
Since 2016 Stephanie has been president of the Federation of Willoughby Progress Association, where she has organised forums for residents, developed policies, and written submissions, to contribute to the development of Willoughby City Council’s 20-year plan. She is also an advocate for women, families, and children.
Steph has also volunteered as a director of Athletics New South Wales but sadly, she is stepping down from the board due to her increased work load as well as her continued role as a volunteer in the local community. In her time on the board she gave guidance on government Regional Sports Infrastructure Funding, developed the HR manual for staff and volunteers, revised our Code of Conduct, and revised the criteria for selection of our Awards. She has also given guidance to the board on a number of governance and risk issues.
I would personally like to thank Steph for supporting me during many of the tough decisions that have been made for the long-term betterment of our sport.
I am sure you will join with me in congratulating Stephanie on receiving this prestigious award, and thank her for her service to the board of Athletics NSW.
