This year’s Cross Country Challenge is on Saturday August 26th and promises to be an enjoyable event for the whole family. With three courses on offer – Family Fun Run (3.6KM), Intermediate (6.8KM) and Expert (10KM) – all funds raised will be donated to The Sanctuary and the Lisa Harnum Foundation. Both of these charities are dedicated to providing support and empowerment to families affected by domestic violence. There are plenty of great prizes up for grabs and the participant who raises the most money will win a three-night trip (plus flights) to Hamilton Island.
Set entirely in the grounds of the beautiful and historic Bella Vista Farm, the Cross Country Challenge is entirely void of street traffic with plenty of parking amenities available. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just keen to get out and raise money for a good cause, there’s a course to suit everyone. The Cross Country Challenge is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels, and there’s absolutely no obligation to run. Feel free to jog, walk, skip or hop – as long as you have fun doing it. You can also opt to do as much or as little of the course as you want. It’s entirely up to you!
Plan to stick around after your run, as there will be lots going on throughout the day. Curb your hard-earned hunger with a bacon and egg roll, grab a cup of coffee and let the kids enjoy the live entertainment. The Hawkesbury Markets will also be on site as part of the annual Orange Blossom Festival and the Bella Vista Homestead will be open to the public (for a fee).
