WARATAH RUN SERIES

 

The Waratah Run Series is a rebranded and remodelled set of XC, road races and relays events. These events are for participants of all ages and abilities, and focus on participant enjoyment and on the day entertainment. Formally known as the ‘Athletics NSW Winter Series’, the Waratah Run Series is a community based social event incorporating a championship event.


XCC FESTIVAL

 

If you are looking for an event to dip your toes into this winter, then look no further than the new XCC Festival on Saturday June 3 at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre at Horsley Park. The site is one of the best venues in NSW with the course traversing over some of the most picturesque and amazing trails in Sydney. There will be food, activities for the kids, education seminars include a session based on 'Exercise, Breasts and Bra Fit's' as well as a bunch of different events to participate in.  Stay tuned for more information on this event!

PROGRAM 

 

9am - 12pm: 1.5km Kids Races

12.30pm; 3km Race (1x 3km loop)

1.15pm: 6km Race (1x 6km loop)

2.15pm: 12km (2x 6km loop)

The entry fees are as follows:

 

Online entry $20 members & $40 non-members

On the day entry $30 members & $40 non-members

HOW TO ENTER

 

Enter online here. Online entries close midnight Wednesday 31st May 2017.

 

On the day entry is available at the registration desk. An on the day entry must be submitted at least 30 minutes before the start of the race.

 

ELIGIBILITY

 


Members are to be registered with Athletics NSW (or other state member association or Little Athletics NSW ) for the 2016-17 season and wear their club/centre uniform with their bibs worn front and back for the duration of the event.

 

Non-members are eligible to enter however only ANSW registered athletes (or other athletes registered with another state member association) are eligible to receive medals in State Championship events.


TAG TIMING

 

All Athletics NSW Members (excluding Dual, Community and Club athletes) will receive a Timing Tag as part of their Membership Pack. This tag will be theirs to use at RunNSW and Waratah Series out of stadia events. Athletes must return the tags to Athletics NSW at the end of the season, as new tags will be allocated each season. The purpose of the Timing Tag is to provide a greater benefit to our members through a more efficient ‘Check In’ process for events and competitions. It is important to note that the Number on the Timing Tag will match the number on the Athlete’s Bib.

Dual members and non-members will be required to report to athlete check in at least 45 minutes prior to the race start time to collect a temporary timing tag. This tag must be returned at the conclusion of the race.

 

PARTICIPANT CHECK-IN

 

Members (excluding Dual, Community and Club athletes) who have entered online are not required to report to athlete check-in. You must however wear both your competition bib and dedicated timing tag for your performance to be verified.

This event is not a NSW Championship and as such no medals will be awarded.

FOOD, BEVERAGE AND ENTERTAINMENT 


This event will include on the day activations such as jumping castles and obstacle courses, interactive/educational marquees, food and drink stalls, captivating race callers as well as entertaining music. 

 

NSW WINTER PREMIERSHIP & WINTER TROPHY

 

Races included in the XCC Festival will be point scoring events towards the Winter Premiership, Winter Trophy and Distance Runner of the Year. The age groups and race distances are as follows:

 

3km U14/U16 Boys and Girls

6km U18 Boys, U18/U20 Girls, 55+/65+/75+ Men and Women

12km U20 Men, Open Men and Women, 35+/45+ Men and Women

AGE/GENDER FORM

 

Click here for age-gender form.  This form is to be used by clubs who wish to create teams with members who do not fit naturally into the team.  For example an 55+ woman who wants to be in an 35+ club team should be listed on this form, and the form submitted BEFORE the race begins. 

 

AGE GROUPS

 

The non-championship races are offered in the following age groups: U14, U16, U18, U20, Open, 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+ and 75+.

 

SPORTS MEDICINE AUSTRALIA "EXERCISE, BREASTS AND BRA FITS" SEMINAR. 

Sports physiotherapist and researcher from Breast Research Australia, Dr Deirdre Mcghee will be presenting a seminar incorporated into this awesome event.
