Meet our Board of Directors

Athletics NSW is comprised of its affiliated clubs, who are its members as per the Constitution. There are currently 88 affiliated member clubs of Athletics NSW. An elected Board of Directors set policy and direction for the organisation, which is implemented by the management staff.


Chief Executive Officer, Duncan Tweed

    • Previous sports administration roles with National, State and Local sporting organisations and professional sporting teams, Member of Football NSW General Purposes Tribunal
    • Prior to working in sport, experience in legal and senior management roles within multinational corporations in Australia and the United States
    • Previous competition experience as a member of NSW Masters and Sydney University Athletics Club

Director, stephanie croft - bankstown Athletics Club

  • Athletics NSW – Director since 2012; former member Officials Advisory Panel, Marketing Advisory Panel.  Chair Risk Committee, Chair Corporate Partnership Committee.  Previous iRun (Run NSW) Manager.  Current member of Finance, Audit, and Risk Management Committee.  Chair Remuneration and Nominations Committee.  Company Secetary for Athletics NSW Ltd.
  • OneSport – member and rotating Chair of One Sport Joint Working Party.  Member of Marketing Committee.
  • Athletics Australia - Technical Official including Commonwealth Games, Invictus Games, World Masters, IPC World Championships, and International Childrens Games; IAAF TOECS 1 accreditation and WPC Level 1 accreditation.  Previous member AA Facilities and Equipment Committee.  Currently observer on Athletics Australia Board of Directors.

  • Previous professional experience includes Senior Analyst at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and various senior compliance roles in a number of large financial institutions including BT/Westpac, ING and Asteron.

  • Distance runner (track, cross country, road events), Former NSW title holder (Novice XC), NSW Open medalist (10,000m), IAAF World Masters Champion (5,000m & 10,000m), NSW Representative in Australian Half Marathon and Cross Country Championships and enthusiastic fun runner.
  • Member of Randwick Botany Harriers and NSW Masters Association. Former member Sydney Striders. 

Director, jonathan fletcher - running science

  • Background in business transformation, IT and operations strategy, and outsourcing strategy formulation and implementation.

  • Avid distance runner and fitness enthusiast
